Implantation of the embryo is a process whereby the fertilized egg cell implants itself in the uterus. Implantation usually takes place seven to ten days after ovulation. It may also happen a few days earlier or later. Implantation is usually very gentle and barely noticeable. Symptoms which might signal implantation are:
- Slight implantation pain - sometimes women feel a slight pain / contractions of the uterus.
- Implantation spotting - a small amount of blood (usually very light) is visible seven to ten days after ovulation.
- Another rise in temperature seven to ten days after ovulation.
- A singular fall of temperature, lasting for only one day, and occurring seven to ten days after ovulation.
Remember that even though the observed symptoms may seem very promising, the only way to confirm a pregnancy is by having a positive pregnancy test (When it is best to do a pregnancy test?)
